SUNNY VERMAAS, REALTOR/BROKER
Sunny began her real estate career in 1977, employed by American
National Group, Beverly Hills, California. American National
encompassed a full range of real estate related Companies,
including real estate development, management, design and
construction. They specialized in large residential subdivisions
and apartment construction/management in Southern and Northern
California, as well as areas of Arizona.
After eight years with this Company, as Assistant to the
President and Chairman, she went 'independent' to work with two
developers of large apartment complexes in Southern California.
Working in this environment entailed all facets of development,
from land acquisition and entitlement through construction
completion and
management of finished projects.
In 1991 Sunny relocated to Lahaina, West Maui where she has
continued to work in the real estate field, specializing in
Resort and residential real estate Island wide. Before joining
Kapalua Realty in 2004, she owned and operated her own real
estate company, Maui Paradise Properties, as a sole
proprietorship and Principal Broker.
Her Real Estate licensing status includes a Hawaii Brokers
License which was obtained in 1996, and a California Brokers
License issued in 1989, which is used for real estate sales in
South Lake Tahoe, California.
Along with a full time real estate career, she is also
volunteering time, helping to promote the fundraising for the
long overdue West Maui Hospital, as well as other community
efforts to improve the overall quality of life in Hawaii. |

RICHARD E. LOPEZ, BROKER, CRB, RRS
Richard began his real estate career in 1981 as a salesman for
Stark Realty and Bruce Stark, a developer of high end
condominiums on Kauai. Subsequently he was offered a position
with Chaney, Brooks and Company, Inc. as Branch Manager and
Broker in Charge. Here he was engaged in the management of
condominium associations, (AOAO's), commercial sales and
leasing, and residential development and sales. In this capacity
he acted as sales manager for three residential projects ranging
from 44 units to 336 residences.
In 2000 Richard relocated to Maui where he has continued in
commercial and general real estate sales.
Career highlights include serving on the Kauai Board of Realtors
from 1982
to 1999 in various capacities including Treasurer, Board of
Director and President of the Kauai Board of Realtors in 1987.
He also served as a Vice President of the Hawaii Association of
Realtors that same year. In 1998 he was asked to serve as
President of the Kauai Business Council for the Kauai Chamber of
Commerce where he acted on behalf of the Kauai business
interests as liason with the Hawaii State Government.
During his 24 years in real estate Richard has attended hundreds
of hours of classes and has attained the following professional
and educational degrees and designations.
*1972 Graduate AA Degree San Jose State University, San Jose,
California, Administration of Justice.
*1981 obtained a Hawaii real estate license, and in 1983
received his Broker designation.
*1985 Earned the ERA CIBM (Certified Investment Brokerage
Manager) designation
*1988 Obtained the CRB (Certified Residential Brokerage Manager)
designation. *1993 Returned to college and graduated from the
University of Hawaii with B.A. in Business Administration.
*2005 Attended classes and obtained the RRS (Resort & Recreation
Specialist designation.
